Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Amy Smart, who was born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in The TV film Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. The transition was difficult for Amy because she had transition from modelling to performing. Models aren't thought of as great actors and so tend to play smaller, less important roles. However, Amy did not give up and transitioned to larger roles, beginning with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. She then ventured into the lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy became famous by the industry for her performance over the past 10 years. Amy worked on some of the biggest film productions, such as the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
