Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Her modelling career began in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. In 1996, she made her debut as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller character. The transition was difficult for Amy as she had change from modeling to performing. Models aren't thought of as great actors, so they usually be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy did her best to get noticed and she eventually landed larger roles beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Amy then stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for the role she'd been looking for for over a decade. Amy went on to appear in major films including the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
