April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. With her age of 39, this may be her last chance to take home an Olympic gold. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. Ross born in 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing sports at the Newport Harbor High School. In addition to playing in numerous sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. Though she excelled in indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than normal. As per her biography her high school days, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a setter (outside blocker). As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Also, she won the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their partnership in 2017, However, Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. It's true that she's had numerous big wins and one partner was a volleyball superstar. From 2007 until 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. They both won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics of 2016. In high school and the many years before hitting the beach as a professional Ross played to the Trojans at USC while an collegiate. She had a great run during her time in the NCAA tournament. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. Additionally, she was one of the key players for helping the Trojans reach it to the Final Four. Her personal life was tense after a devastating loss in her sophomore, yet was capable of achieving the All-American distinction. In her last two years she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. In her own way, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the best female volleyball players at colleges across the nation. Ross was an USC international relations student was a volleyball star. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer when she was in her sophomore year at USC. But she still keeps her parent close to the heart. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, inspires her.
