Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host as well as the proprietor of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the politics. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on that list. In the same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became the president of this group. The acquisition included a number of AOL properties of that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father, it was their bond that shaped her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Additionally, she starred together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editing assistance.
